Marcus Baker, author of SimpleTest and oop/pattern guru extraordinaire at the SitePoint Advanced PHP forum has just had release 1.0 of Bryn Reuben Baker, a strapping young man of 8 lbs. 4 oz. born at 1:48AM July 30th, 2004.
Congratulations Marcus! May Bryn’s tests of you always result in a green bar 
couldn’t happen to a nicer fellow. but as someone with 2 kids under 5 of my own, i forsee Marcus’ sitepoint posts and simpletest releases will see a dramatic decline, to everyone else’s detriment.
My own are Madeline 7 and Caleb 2. I know I only have vague recollections of what I did for entertainment BC (the era before children), but I certainly know that the reason you will occasionally see the odd post from me at 2AM is that is the only time I can squeeze it in.
I think perhaps the insightful mini-essay posts that are Marcus’s hallmark may tend more towards the bullet item “pump out a quick comment” style posts that are more typical of what I am able to accomplish. I think he will also need to re-evaluate his “unit-of-work” reality factor for his personal time projects.
That being said, I recall when Madeline was less than one, I had her in a bouncy seat next to my computer while I worked or played game (that game playing is one activity that has gone by the wayside). It is really once they start being mobile and communicating that you really have to watch out
And, enjoy your time with them always, they grow up too fast. It is hard to believe that Madeline is starting second grade this year.
